Today is our last day in Sevilla. The kids are in class right now and they will be taking an evaluation exam at the end of the morning. After class, we are all going to eat with the teachers. More ice cream???? After that it will be time to go pack our bags. We have to be ready to go at 5:00am tomorrow.
We really had a blast here! What a great city and a great program!
I´ll add more pictures a soon as possible. Thanks for reading our adventures.

Hola amigos!

The heat is getting hard to stand but we still have our smiles! After class, we went to visit el Barrio de SantaCruz, a neighborhood of Seville, close to the school. It´s full of little squares, narrow streets and history. We even saw the balcony that inspired the Opera ¨The Barber of Seville¨.We won´t surprise anyone by saying that after that we went for ice cream..... We also went back to the book and music shop: la Fnac.

Hola!

After class, we met again in the afternoon at the school to learn how to dance Sevillanas. Everyone had fun with it. The teacher was very nice and fun. She joked a lot with the kids!

They did a great job dancing. Some were a little shy, since it´s a couple´s dance, but all enjoyed it!

Only 2 days left here! It´s getting really hot around here. July will be a daily oven for the Sevillan!

Hola!

After class, we went to visit the Alcazares de Sevilla. It´s a group of Palaces started by the Arabs in the XI century and finished by the Spanish King Pedro I in the XIV century. It is very big and beautiful. It is right in the center of the city and has a huge garden. We had a blast visiting it. We went in the room in which King Ferdinand and Queen Isabela received Christopher Columbus before sending him to discover the world! It´s amazing to know that you are standing at the exact same place at a different time. After that we went for a walk, had ice cream and went shopping for music. Great day again!

Lunes 23 de junio 08

On Monday, we went back to class. The school didn´t have a specific activity for the afternoon so we decided to go back to the bullring but this time, we took the tour and went inside. It was very interesting. After that, we went for a walk in the little streets of the old part of the town. The kids got a lot of their gift shopping done. And guess what?...... We all had ice cream!

Domingo 22 de junio 08

On Sunday, we took the train to Cordoba. It is very pretty and has great monuments. We all enjoyed the visits, the walks through the narrow streets and the multiple ice cream stands (Yes! We do like our ice cream around here!). By the end of the day we were a little tired. But we had a great time!

Sabado 21 de junio 08

Saturday, we went to Cadiz. We visited the city which is very tiny and then we spent most of the time at the beach. It was really hot but the kids had a blast. They tried every ice cream on the menu and had a sunscreen fight........which resulted in some strange tanning patterns.

They were out and asleep on the train on the way back to Sevilla.

Friday after class

Hola!

We were away from computers for the week-end, but we are back in business!

Friday after class, we went for a walk along the river Guadalquivir and passed by the Plaza de Toros (the bull ring). We went to the Arts Museum (Museo de Bellas Artes) and came back through the old streets os Sevilla. We ended the day with a dinner on a pretty square where we had Paella! Evryone enjoyed the afternoon and the dinner.

Hola blog-readers!

Yesterday after class we decorated Spanish fans "Abanicos". Everyone got into it and it was a lot of fun. After that, we went for a walk by the river "Rio Guadalquivir" and we saw the "Torre del Oro" (Tower of Gold), where the boats used to unload the gold and other richess coming from the Americas. And... we ate ice cream again!!!! There are so delicious!

Soon it was past 8:00pm and we went home.

Today we are free all afternoon so we made our own schedule. We´ll tell you tomorrow......

Hola!!!

We had a great day again yesterday. After class we had a picnic in the park by the school. Then we went to visit the cathedral. It is the 3rd biggest cathedral in the world. It is huge and beautiful. We also climbed up the Giralda. At the top you have a 360 degree view of the city. Quite amazing!

After that, we walked around the old part of the city and had ice cream again. The ice cream is delicious here! We went home around 8:00pm.

All the kids are here in school right now working on an assignment on the computers.

Buenos dias!

We are having so much fun! Yesterday after class we went to see La Plaza de España and the Gardens of Maria Luisa. The kids had a scavenger hunt answering questions and taking pictures. It´s great to see them walk around with big smiles on their face! They seem to enjoy everything they see, taste and do.

We then went in the old part of the city for ice cream by the Cathedral. By the time we walked back to school it was already 8:00pm and all went home! I´m adding a couple pictures.

Martes 17 de junio

It´s our second day here in Sevilla. The kids are in class at this moment. They seem to really enjoy it!
Yesterday after class, all went home and several took a nap. We met again et 6:00pm and went for a walk downtown. It is very pretty. All were going ooh and aah and taking pictures. We went out to eat with the people from the school. We went back home around 10:00pm.
We walk a lot but it´s good for us!

Llegada (arrival)

¡Hola!

We finally got here yesterday at 7:00pm but without our suitcases!
A storm kept us on land in Newark and we took off close to 12:00am. We arrived at Lisbon at 10:30am, missing our 10:15am connecting flight to Sevilla. The next plane to Sevilla from Lisbon was at 2:00am (that´s the flight they put our luggage on!) so they sent us to Barcelona where we waited 3 hours. Everyone was a little tired but excited to be on an adventure. The airports were very nice with lots of shops and cafes. We had a good time!
The kids are all in class right this minute for their first lesson. Everyone came walking from the families´home. The area is very nice and close to a lot of sites, parks and cafes.

We are leaving on Saturday June 14th. We need to be at the airport at 6:30pm.
Don't forget your passeport!!
Pack your sunscreen and a bilingual dictionary :)
